I am a Front End Web Developer based in London currently studying and training to complete the Development Professional Programme with Just IT. I developed a passionate interest in UI/UX during my last job where I became particularly attracted to the idea of developing a bespoke concept, applying creative and analytical thought and skills. I am committed and dedicated to taking an active role in maintaining my professional development including keeping up to date with current trends in an ever changing industry. I am diligent and maintain high professional standards when using programming languages and code, grasping new ideas and concepts from a fundamental to an advanced level.
Whether it is working alongside designers, back end developers or management, I understand that my role will involve being part of a team. My previous jobs have involved two distinct qualities: working with multiple departments to get to the desired outcome and adding new strings to my bow as I develop. I have thrived in both situations, which have ultimately supported me to develop my skills.
From a young age running has been my passion. I have needed to maintain a high level of discipline working alongside my coach with whom I have developed a close rapport based on mutual respect. Training alongside my coach has taught me the importance of constructive criticism, an integral aspect of running that has ensured I have succeeded in accomplishing my goals. I am committed to reaching my potential in the mile as this has been one of my lifetime ambitions and aim to complete a marathon one day. I am also bilingual being fluent in Norwegian along with intermediate levels of French and Spanish.
The Just IT DPP offers the opportunity to not only learn how to build websites with popular code, but also to understand the programming languages from the ground up. I feel this gives me the best approach possible, helping me understand how to fix and troubleshoot as well as create.
My degree gave me an insight into how the body works, and the affect it has on the body’s performance. I feel this is similar to how different programming languages act mechanically to produce an outcome we see on the screen, whether it be design or an interactive sight.
Having been with the company since their launch in 2012, my role grew and took on additional responsibilities, such as: identifying IT/systems issues that affect the site user journey, troubleshooting and liaising with the site developers to put measures in place that will improve the front and back end efficiency of the website.
I can confidently say that I showed adaptability, effectiveness and time management in order to manage an increased workload whilst ensuring that deadlines are met.
Dealing with members, ensuring warehouse was showtime ready and achieving membership sales targets.
